Jacksonville Armada vs Central Florida

C’Mon you Boys in Blue!

The Timucuan Nation came to Patton Park to cheer on the Jacksonville Armada.  We had a small tailgate (Chief Big Red had a frontgate) in the parking lot and then headed over to the bleachers to claim our seats.  The action was fast and furious,  Kieran Roberts opened up the scoring for the Armada in the 20th minute. A DiMatteo pass allowed him to battle through a one-on-one with the Panthers’ goalkeeper before slotting it home.  The Armada effort paid off again in stoppage time, when Igor Ferreria pushed through the defenders to fire a shot past the Panthers’ keeper and double the lead.  During the halftime break we took advantage of the food truck and made our way over to the inflatable Mascot Squid Viscious for a photo – the kids had a great time playing and climbing all over him.  The second half was another exciting affair with Central Florida clawing back a goal in the 79th minute.  A huge save by the Armada keeper Tekesky in stoppage time preserved the victory for Jacksonville.  After the game the players came to celebrate the win with Section 904 (the Supporters Group) and were happy to sign autographs and take photos with all the kids
