Suwannee Canoe Trip
July 28, 2018 - July 29, 2018
$35A trip you won’t soon forget. An intimate group of all Timucuan tribes float and paddle leisurely (can’t stress leisurely enough!) down the scenic Suwannee River stopping many times along the way to swim, rope swing, eat, and have fun. After arriving late afternoon at the Holton Creek River Camp, the FIRST 40 PEOPLE registered set up camp in one of the screened-in enclosures and any others will need to bring their own tent. We’ll all cook out together under a pavilion with a large charcoal grill (charcoal will be provided but food will not). Sunday morning we’ll continue paddling & floating for about 2-3 hours to the take out point at Gibson County Park where you will be transported back to your cars at the Canoe Outpost.
The first 40 people registered get a spot in one of the raised, screened-in enclosures that have electric and ceiling fans. There are clean, air-conditioned bathrooms with showers available at Holton. Usually we have the entire camp to ourselves. Bring your own food and drinks for lunch, dinner, and breakfast Sunday. Bring your own sleeping bag and air mattress and make sure all your stuff is enclosed in dry boxes. It will get wet either from rain or from being in a canoe. You are welcome to make your own arrangements and camp Friday night at Suwannee.
