Girls Spring Longhouse

Big How! The Shoshone, Sioux and Seminole Nation Chiefs would like to invite all the tribes of their nations to the Girls Spring Longhouse. For those new to the program, it is an event you won’t want to miss. Spring Longhouse is a special time that is designed to strengthen the bond between parent and daughter. Activities will include Canoeing, Kayaks, Fishing, Archery, BB Guns, Crafts, and the Sacred Fire Ceremony.

There will be a Survivor Challenge that will pit tribe against tribe in canoeing, fishing, fire starting and many other activities.

The event is $19 per person for primitive tent camping or $27 per person for a cabin – registration fee can be paid on Circle Bridge and includes a patch, BBQ dinner Saturday night and all activities. Campers are allowed in the parking lot but there are no electric or water hookups available.

Fees will be increasing by $5 on Monday, April 20th. Get the discounted rate while it lasts!

TENT CAMPERS: IF YOU NEED ELECTRICITY, PLEASE BRING A LONG EXTENSION CORD, AND SETUP CAMP NEAR A POWERED COVERED PATIO, OR NEAR A CABIN YOUR TRIBE IS STAYING IN.

!! ROUTE CORDS SAFELY !!

Cabin assignments will be out before Friday (4/24). If you are not registered by noon tomorrow (4/22) you run the risk of being in a different cabin than your tribe.

Friday campers, the Fed will be have limited hamburgers and hot-dogs only (no drinks or snacks).

Friday Karaoke will be done by tribe rotation. To ensure availability of songs, each tribe should submit 3-5 songs (title & performer) by email BEFORE FRIDAY (4/24) to: SiouxChief@timucuan.org

Saturday Dinner will consist of Smoked Pulled-Pork (thank you Seneca!), chips, and a drink.

The Sacred Fire Walk is to be done in silence and with your youngest. This is a time to reflect on your time together. Please do this in silence with minimum lighting (e.g., flash lights) as possible.
