BIG HOW!
Native Sons and Daughters of Jacksonville celebrated the “Sacred Order of the White Buffalo” on June 2-4, 2017. The “Sacred Order of the White Buffalo” is a celebration which recognizes fathers and children who devote time to their community, their tribes, and each other. The children completed at least two (many kids did several) service projects like cleaning the beach, collecting food/supplies for homeless children, selling lemonade for childhood cancer and many others. Fathers assisted by leading a tribe outing like trips for ice cream, hikes in the park or at their homes for a craft. Lastly parents and children devoted time to each other while camping, watch the Jaguars game, attending the Jumbo Shrimp game, playing a game of costume bowling, or while ice skating.
The families received a free camping trip to the AMAZING Jellystone Park in Madison, Florida. This includes a celebration dinner on Saturday evening. Children and adults enjoyed the massive waterslide, lazy river, extreme inflatable obstacle course, ATV off road course, miniature golf… ALL FOR FREE!
