The Great Spirit witnessed lots of spirit at Suwannee for the Girls’ Fall Longhouse. 130 dads and daughters from 10 tribes gathered for the weekend making many lifelong memories. We shot targets with BB guns, did archery, and zip-lined before lunch. After noon, we competed in egg-toss, tug-o’-war, and three-legged race. We had a delicious group dinner of smoked pig, chicken and many different side dishes then each tribe performed skits including dancing, singing “Fish Heads”, and much laughter. The sacred fire was awe-inspiring with fire, face-paint, feathers, fur and lots of fun.
