SUMMARY:Suwannee Canoe Trip
DESCRIPTION:A trip you won’t soon forget. An intimate group of all Timucuan tribes float and paddle leisurely (can’t stress leisurely enough!) down the scenic Suwannee River stopping many times along the way to swim\, rope swing\, eat\, and have fun. After arriving late afternoon at the Holton Creek River Camp\, the FIRST 40 PEOPLE registered set up camp in one of the screened-in enclosures and any others will need to bring their own tent. We’ll all cook out together under a pavilion with a large charcoal grill (charcoal will be provided but food will not). Sunday morning we’ll continue paddling & floating for about 2-3 hours to the take out point at Gibson County Park where you will be transported back to your cars at the Canoe Outpost. \nThe first 40 people registered get a spot in one of the raised\, screened-in enclosures that have electric and ceiling fans. There are clean\, air-conditioned bathrooms with showers available at Holton. Usually we have the entire camp to ourselves. Bring your own food and drinks for lunch\, dinner\, and breakfast Sunday. Bring your own sleeping bag and air mattress and make sure all your stuff is enclosed in dry boxes. It will get wet either from rain or from being in a canoe. You are welcome to make your own arrangements and camp Friday night at Suwannee. \nWhen:\nJuly 28th – 29th\, Boats leave at 10:00 AM SHARP!\nWhere:\nSuwannee River Canoe Outpost (Same entrance as the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park)\nCost:\n\nRent a boat from Canoe Outpost: \n\n$70 to rent a canoe\, minimum 2 per canoe at $35.00 each\n$20 for the third person in a rented canoe\n\nBring your own boat: \n\n$20 per person\n\nPrice includes canoe\, paddles\, life jackets\, overnight camping\, transportation back to Outpost\, driver tip\, and a patch)\n\nRegistration:\nCircleBridge

SUMMARY:2018 Suzie Q Miller Family Campout
DESCRIPTION:The Timucuan Longhouse would like to invite all tribes and members (and also moms!) to the 2018 SQM Family Campout\, which will be held February 9-11\, 2018 Camp Chowenwaw campground (the weekend AFTER Super Bowl). \nThe campground\, located just north of Green Cove Springs on the Black Creek. The venue is outstanding having campsites including a number of cabins. The campgrounds have excellent nature trails and also the Kiwita Nature Center. Chowenwaw has rich history being founded in the 1930s by the Girl Scouts. The camp is currently administered by Clay County. \nOnce again\, the highlight of the campout will be The Fed Feast dinner Saturday evening. As usual\, we plan to enjoy some outrageously good BBQ including ribs\, brisket\, pork loin\, and more. Other planned events for Saturday are expected to include archery\, critter race\, spirited tugs-of-war\, and zip lining. After the Feast\, we plan to enjoy an amazing pyrotechnics show and perhaps a dance with some great music for the group to enjoy. \nIf you can’t stay over both nights\, try to stay one night\, if you can stay overnight\, come by and enjoy the activities on Saturday and the Feast. \nSuzie Q. Miller was an active Federation mom married to Rodney Miller (Wild Horse) and mother to Page (Little Pony). She was known to be a great lady\, wife\, and mother who really supported the program and was active in organizing in many events including camp outs. After battling cancer for 5 years\, Susie joined the Great Spirit in 2010.
