SUMMARY:Boys Spring Longhouse
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: Registration closed Wednesday\, 4/3\, at 11:59PM. All campsite assignments have been made and provided to Hanna Park. Camping is only authorized on the sites designated. \nDownload Agenda \nDownload Campsite Assignments\nBIG HOW! \nKnowing that shad (fish) swim from the ocean into rivers to spawn in April each year\, coastal fishing tribes named the April moon the “Fish Moon”. The Apache and Algonquin Nation Chiefs would like to invite all boys tribes to join us under the Fish Moon at Hanna Park for the 2019 Boys Spring Longhouse. It is only fitting that this camp out by the sea\, under the Fish Moon\, will be filled with activities in and around the water. \nWe start this longhouse with an event that hasn’t happened before: a fishing tournament. Bring your best rod\, reel\, lures\, and bait. You can fish in both the Atlantic Ocean and the stocked 60-acre pond. The tournament starts on Friday afternoon and goes until sunset on Saturday. You will need to pick up a tournament rules flyer before you start fishing. Photo proof will be required (as specified in official rules). Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat! \nOn Saturday\, we’ll have our opening ceremony on the beach\, followed immediately by a tribe sand-sculpting contest and the ever-popular egg toss. Bring your own sand shaping equipment. After lunch we’ll have two more events. First will be the return of the tribe canoe relay\, and then we’ll move to the field near the canoe shack for a target accuracy challenge. This will test dads and kids skills at hitting targets with bean bags\, frisbee’s\, footballs\, etc. \nAs always\, there will be a federation feast on Saturday night. Beach party fare will be provided in the form of chicken breast\, hamburgers\, hot dogs\, and bratwurst. Tribes to provide award-seeking side dishes. While tribes are preparing their side dishes\, the kids can get in their last few casts in hopes of winning the fishing tournament. \nAs with all Spring Longhouses\, this will be a Sacred Fire with a Broken Arrow Ceremony. If your child will be breaking arrow\, please email your Nation Chief and the Medicine Man. \nA full agenda will be posted as the event gets closer. Email any questions you have to your Tribe Chief or Nation Chief. \n  \nRegister on CircleBridge – $30 for Tent camping\, $35 for RV \nChief Peterbilt and Chief Iron Wolf
