SUMMARY:Girls Fall Longhouse 2022
DESCRIPTION:BIG HOW! \n\nThe great spirit welcomes us all to new venue right on the Suwannee River\, “Suwannee River Rendezvous”\, for another great event that brings fathers and daughters closer together.  We will be right along the Suwannee River\, and they warmly accept RV and tent campers alike.  They have a fishing pond\, fire rings\, boat ramp and tent sites on the river.  We will need an accurate count of each tribe’s number of RV’s ASAP so we can get as close together as possible.  So please register quickly\, and remember to do so as an RV camper if you are staying in an RV.  That means two dads and two children in an RV\, should be four RV registrations.  Camp house rentals may be available\, reach out separately with resort to reserve.  Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for the drawing; we will have great prizes again. \n\nOn set-up day\, Friday November 11th\, do not plan to bring anything to cook and don’t bother stopping for food on the way in.  We will have hamburgers and hotdogs – with all the fixings.  There is no fee to eat but any donation of five dollars or more will be honored with a raffle ticket.  We will have a late-night movie\, so bring your eyes and your appetite! \n\nImportant Longhouse Info: \n\nDATE: November 11 – 13 \nWHERE Suwannee River Rendezvous – https://www.suwanneeriverrendezvous.com/ \nTHEME: River of Life \n\nWar Games: \nIndividual games for medals: \n\nEgg toss – 9 over/ 8 under – 2 medals\nBurlap – three-legged sack race – 9 over/ 8 under – 2 medals\nBiggest/ Most Fish – 9 over/ 8 under – 2 – 4 medals (depending on participation and rules described below).\n\n\nBiggest/ Most Fish Rules – This is an event that you may chose to do\, it’s not mandatory by any means.  You and your girl fish in your free time at any point during the weekend\, but before the closing ceremony Sunday.  This is a medal event that requires you to bring a good sturdy stick from home or find one on-site (although I wouldn’t count on finding one there).  They have a catch and release pond on site.  The fish you catch will be released after you take a picture and send to nation chief’s cell phone.  At any point during the weekend\, each girl and dad will make their own pole to use.  Puma will have all the line\, hooks\, sinkers and bobbers at their camp site\, text or call Sioux Nation Chief for location.  There will be four medals\, two for each age group\, the 1) biggest and the 2) most. \n\nTribe games: \n1) Water Head \n2) Scavenger Hunt \n3) Big Red’s Critter Race  (Snakes are not allowed) \n4) Ring the Chief \n\nAGENDA: \nFriday \n            Location: NSD Jax tents basecamp/ Pavilion? \n6:30ish – When you arrive\, and after you’ve set up your camp site\, the food will be cooking.  We are cooking free hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings and sides (feel free to bring a side you want to share with all). \n                        7:30ish – Late night at the Pavilion\, once most have arrived\, there will be a movie on the big screen. \nSaturday \nLocation – NSD Jax tents basecamp – look for War Trailer and flags \n9:30 – Chief’s Meeting \n10:00 – Opening Ceremony \n10:30 – war games start – stay close\, they will all be back-to-back until lunch \nLUNCH BREAK AFTER WAR GAMES END \n            Location: – NSD Jax tents basecamp \n1:00 – Scavenger Hunt – pick up your tribes’ sheets (not all tribes’ sheets will be the same) \n                        2 – 2:30 Red’s Critter Race \n            Location: – the Resort’s “Coop” \n3:00 – Pigeon Race event held by resort – your option \n4:30 – Chicken Poop Bingo held by resort – your option \n            Location: – Your Tribe’s Campsite \n                        5:30 – tribe dinner \n                        6:30 – Federation tasting/ campsite judging \n            Location: – TBD \n                        7:30 – gather for sacred fire walk \n                        8 – 8:30 – sacred fire \nSunday \n            Location: – NSD Jax tents basecamp – look for War Trailer and flags \n                        9:30 – Chief’s Meeting \n                        10:00 – Raffle Drawing \n                        10:45 – Closing Ceremonies \n\nClean-Up\, Break Down and Head Home After Closing Ceremonies – remember to leave the campsite better than how we found it. \n\nLook forward to seeing everyone out there soon! \nYour Sioux Nation Chief\, Jarrett “Sunrise Warrior” Mankin
