SUMMARY:Boys Spring Longhouse
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE:  Download the flyer to see campsite assignments and agenda. \nSpring is upon us and it’s time for Spring Longhouse.   \nStatewide was a great time. I’ve been in this program for five years and have gone to many longhouse. They take a commitment of a weekend away from other things\, kids sports\, to do lists\, work\, etc. but on the drive home Sunday I reflect on the time with my son and it’s so worth it.   \nThe final details of spring longhouse are underway. The campsite enjoys great shade from large oak trees\, there are great trails and the beach\, and we have a plan to enjoy it all.   \nProposed schedule and activities.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDay\nTime\nActivity\n\n\nFriday\n5:00 pm\nArrive (campsites will be assigned.  So please sign up before Friday as we will use Thursday nights roster to assign sites and keep tribes adjacent each other)\n\n\nFriday\n8:30 pm\n Movie night “Surfs Up” and s’mores\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\n8:30 am\nChiefs meeting \n\n\nSaturday\n9:00 am\nOpening ceremony and selling of raffle tickets (this years raffle prizes will be on display at the opening ceremony)\n\n\nSaturday\n9:45 am\nSandcastle competition at beach (1.5 hours)\n\n\nSaturday\n11:15 am\nEgg toss on beach\n\n\nSaturday\n11:30 am\nJump in the ocean\n\n\nSaturday\n12:00 pm\nLunch at camp- downtime. rest or explore trails- your call. \n\n\nSaturday\n2:00 pm\nGreat Canoe Relay (back by popular demand). and Canoe rentals for those who want to explore after the canoe races.  There is a large lake adjacent our camp area.\n\n\nSaturday\n3:00 pm\nBike/ trail scavenger hunt\, clues and riddles for kids and dads to find and solve.\n\n\nSaturday\n4:30 pm\nCritter race sponsored by big red at the Gazebo next to our camping area. \n\n\nSaturday\n5:30 pm\nCampsite inspection – Looking for American flag\, tribe regalia with name\, homemade regalia.\n\n\nSaturday\n6:30 pm\nNation potluck feast. Meat and chicken by nation. Tribe brings side dish. Special thanks to Chief Two Tows ( Girls Nation Chief) for coming to our longhouse and cooking. \n\n\nSaturday\n8:30 pm\nSacred fire and broken arrow ceremony.
